In short

What makes PADI Seal Team different from a one-hour taster?

PADI Seal Team is a pool-based scuba program for children aged eight and over, built around five AquaMissions across two days rather than a single session. In practice, most children’s diving programs stop at one hour in the shallow end.

Seal Team keeps going, because five separate sessions give a child time to stop concentrating on the equipment and start enjoying the water. Meanwhile, every AquaMission arrives as a challenge rather than a lesson. Children clear a mask, recover a regulator, hover, swim an obstacle course and work as a team, yet from their side it simply feels like the best afternoon of the holiday.

Above all, the instructor stays with the group throughout, and no child is ever pushed to complete a mission they are not enjoying.

What are the five AquaMissions?

PADI Seal Team Hurghada is built from five AquaMissions, spread across two days so that nothing is rushed. Each mission adds one layer of skill on top of the last.

  1. Getting comfortable

First of all, your child meets the equipment, learns how it works and takes their first breaths underwater. Everything happens in shallow water, standing depth, with the instructor within arm’s reach.

  2. Basic skills

Next come the core scuba skills: clearing water from a mask, recovering a regulator, and moving calmly rather than quickly. Children repeat each one until it stops feeling strange.

  3. Buoyancy and control

Then they learn to hover, which children usually find the most satisfying part. Floating in one place without touching the bottom feels like a genuine superpower at that age.

  4. Missions and games

Afterwards the sessions turn into challenges: an obstacle course, an underwater construction task, or a search-and-recover game. Meanwhile the skills keep building without anybody calling them skills.

  5. Team mission

Finally, the group works together on a mission that needs communication and buddy awareness. That teamwork is exactly what real diving depends on later.

Who can join PADI Seal Team, and how do we keep it safe?

PADI Seal Team Hurghada is open to children aged eight and over, and all five AquaMissions stay in confined water. Consequently, the instructor is within arm’s reach for every minute of the two days.

Who can join

In short, children aged eight and over who feel comfortable in water and can follow simple safety instructions. A parent or guardian completes the PADI registration and medical forms. Your child needs no previous experience, and does not have to be a strong swimmer.

Where it happens

All five AquaMissions take place in a swimming pool or equivalent confined water, never in open sea. Because of that, conditions stay identical from one session to the next, which is exactly what young learners need.

Medical clearance

If the medical questionnaire flags anything that could affect safety on scuba, your child needs a doctor’s approval first. Simply mention it when you inquire, and a local physician can usually sign off the same day.

Parents welcome

Where the facility allows it, parents watch from a designated area at the poolside. In addition, most children settle faster knowing you are nearby, and the photographs come out better too.

Should you choose PADI Bubblemaker or PADI Seal Team?

Both programs start at age eight, yet in practice they answer different questions. PADI Bubblemaker costs €75 and lasts one hour, which suits a family who simply wants to see whether their child likes it.

By contrast, Seal Team costs €150 and gives five sessions across two days. Because the water time is so much greater, children move past the novelty and actually learn something they keep.

As a result, many families book Bubblemaker early in the holiday and add Seal Team once they watch how their child takes to it.

What comes after PADI Seal Team?

From age ten, children who finish PADI Seal Team are often ready for the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course at €350, which is a full international certification with real open-water dives. Even so, readiness depends on age, maturity, swimming ability and medical fitness rather than on enthusiasm alone.

Meanwhile the rest of the family can be in the water on the same days. Our Hurghada island and snorkeling trip works well alongside a morning session, and certified divers can join daily diving. Naturally, all our procedures appear on the diving safety page.
