The Bismarck Liveaboard Red Sea is a 46-metre steel safari yacht. Notably, she carries 34 guests in 17 en-suite cabins across five decks. Moreover, she was launched in 2023, so she combines a serious offshore dive platform with an outdoor Jacuzzi and genuinely modern interiors.
Built for the demands of remote offshore exploration, M/Y Bismarck stands apart as a dedicated expedition platform sailing from Hurghada. Furthermore, her 46-metre steel hull was engineered for stability on long open-water crossings.
Because recovery matters when you are diving deep drop-offs and heavy currents, the whole vessel is arranged around comfortable surface intervals. Consequently, guests move easily between the dive deck, the salon and the shaded seating on the upper decks.
She accommodates up to 34 guests across 17 private cabins. In addition, every cabin has its own bathroom, individual air conditioning and daily cabin service.
Her 11-metre beam creates unusually generous public areas for an Egyptian safari boat. Therefore the restaurant, salon and sun deck never feel crowded, even on a full week.
Three compressors and two diving tenders support the programme. As a result, the crew can run four dives on a full day without long waits at the tank racks.
Above all, she suits divers who want serious offshore itineraries without giving up comfort. For this reason she also works well for full private charters and dive-club groups.
17 private cabins — all en-suite, with air conditioning, hot shower and personal storage.
Air-conditioned salon — the expedition hub, with large viewing windows and media facilities for debriefs.
Air-conditioned restaurant — fresh buffet meals that blend Egyptian and international dishes.
Jacuzzi on the sun deck — an open-air hot tub for muscle recovery after a demanding day.
Professional dive deck — tank racks, rinse tanks, Nitrox, a camera station and two tenders.
Safety first — complete emergency equipment, a trained crew and detailed briefings.

M/Y Bismarck is a 46-metre steel Red Sea diving liveaboard built in 2023, with an 11-metre beam, five decks and 17 en-suite cabins for up to 34 guests. She sails Egyptian diving safaris from Hurghada and Port Ghalib, carries three compressors, two diving tenders and an outdoor Jacuzzi, and is operated by Red Sea Diving, a Hurghada-based dive operator working in the Egyptian Red Sea since 2000. Prices start from €1,400 per person for a seven-night safari; marine park and port fees are charged separately.
Because recovery is critical when you manage several deep profiles day after day, every cabin is built as a quiet, climate-controlled space. Moreover, all 17 cabins are en-suite, so nobody shares a bathroom.
The largest accommodation on board, arranged for couples and guests who want extra space. Additionally, the suites sit on the sun and upper decks, close to the outdoor areas.
Main-deck cabins with wider beds and windows onto the water. Furthermore, they sit next to the salon, which keeps briefings and meals within a few steps.
Two separate beds for dive partners, friends and solo travellers sharing. In addition, the storage layout keeps personal gear organised through the week.
In short, the deck plan shows how the 17 cabins, the restaurant, the salon and the outdoor areas are arranged across five decks. Consequently, you can see exactly where your cabin sits before you book.
Altogether, the 17 cabins are spread across four accommodation decks. Consequently, you can choose between a quiet lower-deck twin, a main-deck sea-view cabin, a flexible sun-deck cabin or a suite.
| Deck | Cabins | Category | Beds | From, per person |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lower deck | 1–2 | Twin cabin | Two single beds | €1,400 |
| Main deck | 3–8 | Sea-view twin | Two beds, about 120 cm wide | €1,650 |
| Sun deck | 9–14 | Flexible cabin, about 3 × 3 m | Twin or combined double | On request |
| Sun deck | 15 | VIP suite, about 5 × 3 m | Premium arrangement | €1,850 |
| Upper deck | 16–17 | Suite, about 4 × 3 m | Suite arrangement | €1,700 |
Cabins 1 and 2 are the most economical option, and they also sit low in the hull, which many guests find the steadiest place to sleep. Meanwhile, cabins 3 to 8 add wider beds and a sea view beside the salon.
Sun-deck cabins 9 to 14 have movable beds, so they work equally well as twins or as one large double. Finally, cabin 15 and the two upper-deck suites offer the most space on board.
Prices are per person for a seven-night safari in a shared cabin. However, single occupancy, private charters and group rates are quoted individually, so please ask for a written offer before you book.
Between dives, M/Y Bismarck works as a comfortable base on the water. Therefore each interior and exterior area is planned so that your surface intervals actually support the next dive.
Fresh buffet meals blend Egyptian and international dishes. Moreover, snacks, water, tea, coffee and soft drinks run through the day.
The climate-controlled salon hosts briefings, marine-life talks and photo reviews. In addition, it is the natural place to sit out a windy afternoon.
Open loungers and deep shade sit side by side. Consequently, you can follow the sun or escape it without moving far.
The outdoor Jacuzzi sits directly on the sun deck. As a result, tired muscles recover while the sun drops behind the reef.
Firstly, the dive deck gives every guest a fixed station, a tank space and a storage bin underneath. Therefore preparing and rinsing gear stays orderly even when 34 divers are working at once.
Meanwhile, two tenders carry divers to entry points, collect them after surfacing and reach reefs where the main vessel cannot safely approach. Furthermore, they support drift entries and surface operations on exposed offshore sites.
Nitrox is available for appropriately certified divers. However, you must analyse your own cylinder, confirm the oxygen percentage and respect the maximum operating depth of the mixture.
In practice, groups are formed by certification, recent experience and comfort in current. Consequently, the guide ratio and the dive plan change with the route rather than following a fixed rule.
Above all, the vessel follows modern Red Sea liveaboard safety criteria. For this reason she carries current navigation, communication and emergency equipment alongside a trained crew and professional dive guides.
Firstly, the boat carries a complete set of emergency equipment. Moreover, every item is checked and maintained before departure.
Of course, equipment alone is not enough. Therefore the crew works to a documented plan and briefs every guest before the trip begins.
All guests must attend the boat safety briefing and follow the instructions of the captain, cruise director, guides and crew. Furthermore, divers must carry the certification, experience and insurance required for their route.
Firstly, the captain and engineering team regularly inspect the engines, generators, electrical systems and compressors. Moreover, the vessel undergoes scheduled servicing and the inspections required by the relevant Egyptian authorities.
In addition, she carries GPS, radar, a depth sounder, AIS and VHF marine radio. Consequently, the captain can monitor the route, the weather and sea conditions throughout the journey.
Naturally, every trip begins with a complete boat and emergency briefing. Furthermore, before each dive the guides explain the site, the currents, entry and exit procedures, maximum depth and the emergency plan.
Divers must present valid certification and diving insurance. In addition, Nitrox users must personally analyse their cylinder, set their computer correctly and sign the Nitrox log.
Our captain, crew and dive guides have long experience navigating and diving in the Red Sea. Therefore they review emergency, rescue, fire and evacuation procedures regularly.
However, the captain may change the itinerary, delay sailing or cancel a dive whenever weather or sea conditions are unsafe. After all, no dive site is more important than the safety of our guests and crew.
M/Y Bismarck is insured against marine accidents. However, every guest must also carry personal travel and diving insurance covering medical treatment, hyperbaric treatment, emergency evacuation and repatriation.
Finally, you can read more about how we work on our diving safety page.
Notably, the vessel can operate all eight of Egypt’s best-known itineraries. However, the precise route and dive-site order always depend on the departure port, the weather, currents, guest experience and official permissions.

Besides diving, selected departures combine liveaboard accommodation with kitesurfing in remote Red Sea locations. Moreover, these programmes are separate from the standard diving itineraries.
Consequently, remote lagoons and open riding areas give far more space than a crowded beach. In addition, experienced riders get longer sessions, while beginners need qualified instruction and a suitable controlled area.
However, every session depends on wind, weather, guest experience and the equipment arranged before departure. Therefore all kite sessions remain subject to the captain’s approval and the trip leader’s safety procedures.
A standard safari runs for seven nights with six diving days. Nevertheless, the captain may reshape the week whenever weather, currents or marine-park rules require it.
To begin with, Saturday is boarding day. After registration, certification checks and cabin allocation, the crew runs the general boat briefing and the safety briefing.
On Sunday the vessel departs once port procedures are complete, and the first dive is normally a check dive where you settle your weighting and buoyancy. Then, from Monday to Thursday, full diving days usually include three or four dives depending on conditions and local regulations.
Friday brings two morning dives before the return passage, because the last dive must respect your flight time. Finally, Saturday is breakfast and check-out.
Cabins start from €1,400 per person for the week, although suites cost more. In addition, marine park and port fees are charged separately and are normally settled on board.
Broadly, she suits experienced recreational divers, underwater photographers, wreck enthusiasts, couples, dive centres and private charter groups. Moreover, her size makes her a comfortable choice for clubs booking the whole boat.
Northern and southern reef routes suit a wider range of certified divers. In contrast, offshore itineraries such as Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone are intended for divers who are comfortable with currents, deep walls and open-water entries.
Naturally, every guest must bring a valid certification, a logbook or digital dive history, passport details, a medical declaration, emergency contact details and insurance that covers scuba diving. Additionally, advanced routes ask for more.
Certification bodies such as PADI and BSAC are accepted. However, the exact minimum qualification and logged-dive count must be confirmed for your selected departure.
Of course, we operate several vessels on the same Egyptian routes. Therefore the right choice usually comes down to size, cabin layout and the atmosphere you prefer on board.
