Which CMAS diving courses in Hurghada suit children?

CMAS gives children a pathway of their own, rather than a smaller copy of adult training. In fact, the three Dolphin levels run from age eight to fourteen, always on air, in daylight and under direct supervision.

Moreover, depth follows the child’s age: about 7 meters from 8 to 10, and up to 15 meters from 12 to 14 only after progressive shallower dives. As a result, skills always come before depth.

CMAS Bronze Dolphin Diver

The first children’s level. In fact, it includes at least six hours in the water as well as two open water dives.

CMAS Silver Dolphin Diver

CMAS Gold Dolphin Diver

The final Dolphin level, so it focuses on buoyancy, trim, communication and buddy habits.

02 · Diver grades

Which CMAS star grades come after the beginner course?

The adult CMAS ladder has three star grades, and each one builds on the last. To begin with, One-Star needs no experience at all, although it starts at age fourteen.

After that, Two-Star adds planning, navigation and experience, while Three-Star turns an experienced diver into a dive leader who can plan dives and guide others.

CMAS One-Star Diver

€320Age 14+Beginner

The adult entry level, with no experience needed. Moreover, it includes at least four open water dives and training to 20 meters.

CMAS Two-Star Diver

€400Age 15+After One-Star

The continuing level, since it builds planning, navigation and experience toward a recommended maximum of about 30 meters.

CMAS Three-Star Diver

€900Age 18+After Two-Star

The leadership level, which covers dive planning, rescue and guiding certified divers, with around 100 logged dives expected.

03 · Instructor training

Which CMAS instructor courses do we run?

Experienced Three-Star Divers who want to teach can train with us as CMAS instructors. However, our commercial instructor pathway ends at Two-Star Instructor, so higher instructor grades are not offered here.

In addition, instructor candidates pay the official CMAS examination, assessment and certification fees separately, unless the confirmed booking says otherwise.

CMAS One-Star Instructor

€1,200Age 18+Three-Star + 1 year

The first CMAS teaching level. Furthermore, candidates need 100 logged open water dives, first aid and CPR, as well as oxygen administration.

CMAS Two-Star Instructor

€1,500Age 20+25 sessions taught

The advanced teaching level, for One-Star Instructors with at least a year and 25 training sessions behind them.

Which CMAS course should I take?

Your current certificate and age usually answer this at once. Otherwise, the list below shows the normal starting point for each situation.

  • Children new to scuba: to begin with, Bronze Dolphin Diver
  • Children who hold Bronze: then Silver Dolphin Diver, after five more dives
  • Experienced junior divers: finally, Gold Dolphin Diver
  • Beginners from age 14: CMAS One-Star Diver, since it needs no experience
  • Certified One-Star Divers: after that, Two-Star Diver
  • Experienced Two-Star Divers: Three-Star Diver, the leadership level
  • Three-Star Divers who want to teach: One-Star Instructor, once they have held Three-Star for a year
  • Experienced One-Star Instructors: similarly, Two-Star Instructor

However, final eligibility always depends on the applicable CMAS federation standards and your own experience.

Why take CMAS diving courses in Hurghada?

Should you choose CMAS, PADI or BSAC?

We teach all three agencies in Hurghada, so you can pick the system that fits your plans. In short, all three enjoy wide respect, and the best choice usually depends on where you will dive afterward.

CMAS

The World Underwater Federation works through national federations, so its star grades carry recognition across many countries. Moreover, it offers a dedicated children’s pathway from age eight.

PADI

PADI runs from children’s programs to instructor level. Indeed, all of our PADI courses sit together on one overview page.

BSAC

The British Sub-Aqua Club ladder starts with Ocean Diver. By contrast, it grew from club diving, which shows in its focus on planning and leadership.
