CMAS Two-Star Instructor · ★★ · Hurghada
The advanced professional level. Real teaching experience, twenty-five sessions and an assist on another instructor’s training, turned into the ability to teach advanced, specialty, rescue and entry-level leadership programs. For One-Star Instructors ready to take on more, trained across Hurghada.

The CMAS Two-Star Instructor course, CMAS ★★, is the advanced professional instructor qualification of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques, developing an experienced One-Star Instructor into someone who can teach advanced diver, specialty, rescue and entry-level leadership programs. In Hurghada it costs €1,500 per person for the training, with CMAS federation, registration, instructor materials, examination, assessment and certification fees charged separately. Candidates must be at least twenty, hold CMAS One-Star Instructor for at least one year, show real teaching experience across a minimum of 25 training sessions, and have assisted a CMAS Three-Star Instructor on at least one One-Star Instructor training program; the course covers advanced teaching methods, theory instruction, confined water and open water instruction, instructor leadership and dive management, with theoretical, confined-water, open-water, teaching-skills and emergency-procedure assessments. Red Sea Diving runs it in Hurghada on the Egyptian Red Sea.
Moreover, this level is not designed for someone who has just received a One-Star Instructor card without gaining practical teaching experience first. Therefore we review your teaching record, logbook and instructor-training experience before we confirm a program, and we explain in writing any CMAS fee that applies. The course follows the standards published by the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques.

A One-Star Instructor teaches entry-level divers. By contrast, Two-Star adds advanced, specialty, rescue and entry-level leadership teaching, plus the responsibility that comes with wider permissions. Consequently CMAS asks for proof first: twenty-five actual training sessions taught, not simply a year of holding the card, and hands-on experience assisting a Three-Star Instructor during a One-Star Instructor course.
Furthermore, that last requirement matters. Training future instructors is a different skill from training divers, and CMAS wants you to have seen it done before you teach at this level.
In short, Two-Star Instructor is earned through real classroom, confined water and open water hours, not simply time served.
Analyzing student needs, planning advanced lessons and delivering technical information to already-experienced divers.
Above all, lesson structure, technical accuracy and questioning techniques strong enough to explain advanced subjects clearly.
Likewise, organizing students, demonstrating advanced skills and correcting problems, assessed as part of certification.
In addition, managing depth, gas, current and buddy teams while teaching, with its own CMAS assessment.
Organizing training, supporting other instructors and maintaining standards, not only teaching your own class.
Furthermore, organizing divers, coordinating instructors and managing surface support during training activities.
Delivering rescue training and specialty programs, within the permissions your certification and federation allow.
Preparing divers for their own first leadership steps, a responsibility Two-Star Instructor adds.
Finally, formally assessed emergency-procedure skills, because advanced responsibility needs advanced emergency awareness.
However, CMAS evaluates your ability to teach effectively, not simply your ability to perform diving skills yourself. In other words, explain, demonstrate, observe, correct and assess remain the whole point.

To begin with, we review your One-Star Instructor date, training sessions taught, instructor-training experience and current qualifications.
Then advanced teaching methods, lesson planning and the theoretical assessment, built on real diving knowledge.
Next, advanced demonstration, correction and the confined-water teaching assessment.
Afterward, teaching advanced divers in open water, managing depth, gas and buddy teams, toward the open-water assessment.
Finally, the teaching-skills and emergency-procedure assessments, and your certification at the advanced professional level.
However, the exact schedule depends on your existing teaching record and current CMAS assessment arrangements. Consequently we confirm the day-by-day plan once we have reviewed your background.
Not there yet? The CMAS One-Star Instructor course is the step before this one, and the teaching sessions can build up here on our daily courses long before you register. Moreover, if you already hold a higher instructor rating from another agency, send it to us first, because we can advise on the appropriate CMAS route.

Therefore your written quotation shows the €1,500 training price and each applicable CMAS fee as separate lines. In fact, the exams belong to CMAS, which is why their fees never sit inside our price.

An advanced instructor candidate needs advanced students, and Hurghada supplies them all year: continuing-education divers, specialty candidates and international guests at every level, on daily boats within minutes of the marina. Consequently your twenty-five training sessions are real lessons with real students, not rehearsals with fellow candidates.
Furthermore, the same base runs daily diving and liveaboards, so advanced and specialty teaching opportunities are genuinely available here. Our procedures sit on the diving safety page.
Equally, we teach PADI, BSAC and CMAS instructor routes, so our own instructor team already coordinates across systems every week.
